Tracey went on sightseeing tour on her own as Danny wasn’t wanting to do yet another stop-start bus tour.
Vienna is a great city with both old and new side by side. They celebrate Strauss, Beethoven, Mozart and music in general.
The old buildings have been repurposed and one of the old renaissance buildings houses the Spanishe Horses (Lippizaner).
St Stephen’s Cathedral is stunning. There is a small part that is free to enter but you have to pay to go further in.
I had apelstrudel & hot chocolate at a café with our new friends.
I took a short walk back to the buses and to the ship for lunch.
Vienna Supreme Concerts
This is a company that does classical performances. We took a coach ride into the city to Palais Echenbach.
They played a selection of recognizable pieces from Strauss, Mozart and others.
There was a nine-piece ensemble orchestra consisting of Piano, Oboe, Flute/Piccolo, 2 x Violin, Viola, Cello, Double-bass & drums/percussion. There were also two dancers and two solo vocalists.
Definitely the highlight of Tracey’s trip. The whole performance was superbly put together and loads of fun. Very professional.
