As with embarkation – the process was very orderly and organized.
We stayed on board until 11am when our van came & picked up 8 passengers for the flights from Budapest Airport. What should have been a 20-25 minute drive ended up taking nearly an hour because of an accident that stopped traffic for some time.
Got there in plenty of time. Had a light lunch at an Asian place in the airport and started out trip home.
The 1st leg from Budapest to Frankfurt was a short hop with Lufthanza – Economy and at the back of the plane. They only board from the front so the process takes twice as long as it should. Left a little late but uneventful flight and arrived in Frankfurt without any issue.
At Frankfurt we stopped and had “lunch” of a shared plate of beef & pasta. It was really good and we’re glad we shared it as the serving was quite large.
The 2nd leg from Frankfurt to Singapore (Singapore Airlines) was again uneventful except Danny didn’t sleep at all. As this was the longest leg, it was a painful flight for him.
In Singapore airport, we didn’t bother eating as we knew we’d be fed very well as usual on the flight.
Spent some time wandering around the Airport and visited the Butterfly Garden. Very pretty and peaceful.
During the 3rd leg from Singapore to Sydney we both managed to sleep for a while and arrived in Sydney on time and in one piece.
Overall the trip was great. We both felt like the river cruise was a couple of days too long but most on board thought it was fabulous. The food and drink were good and plentiful, the organization was first-rate. Good value all around.
