Headed home today and, for a change, Danny didn’t take any photos.
Our flight was on time and uneventful until the aborted landing (someone else was on the runway)! That meant a 10 minute delay but other than that it was all good.
The trip from the Airport home was a series of perfectly timed moments – got our luggage and walked down to the train platform, just as the train was pulling in. Got off at Central to change trains and only waited for 8 minutes for the next Parramatta train to arrive which happened to be an express and then a quick taxi ride up from Parramatta.
So looking forward to our own bed!
Over all, it was a long-ish trip but well worth it. Really appreciated the amount of work Ralph & Barb put in organising the Kangaroo Island leg. We had a great time and hopefully the photos tell most of the story.
The highlights …
- Finding Jack at the Cape Jervis Tavern & General Store.
- Tracey picking up a camera for the first time in a lot of years (no, I’m not going to buy my own but it was fun).
- The Cactus Café at KI – seriously the best food on the island.
- The Cape Borda Lighthouse (and firing of the Cannon) – very fun.
- Spending 11 days with 4 relative strangers (and two old friends) and enjoying every minute of it!
Although there’s no photos of the trip home, we’ll add a couple of galleries of photos on the Gallery page of the website that include some of Danny’s black & whites, abstracts and general photos and a collection of “fun” ones too.
Hope you’ve had fun following this trip and may it inspire you to go and explore your own home country a little bit more.
