After the hiccup with the leaky pipe, the plumber came in and found the source – yes, the apprentice had drilled through the pipe 🙂 – funny how it’s always the apprentice’s fault!! 🙂 .
So by Monday evening we had a hole in the wall in Danny’s “office” and a slowly drying patch of carpet.
At least we had a functioning shower in the main bathroom.
By the end of Wednesday, the final few pieces had been put in the bathrooms – door stops, the towel rail and hooks in the main bathroom and the last mirrored doors on the shaving cabinets.
The hole in the wall had been patched, ready for painting and they’d cleaned the little bit of carpet that had been stained when the water came through! That I wasn’t expecting.
The driveway is now clear – no more blue shower box or skip bin and last night we left our car in the garage for the first time in about four weeks.
Tomorrow, the painter will come back in to finish the hole in the wall and paint the back of the bathroom doors (they are currently cream which looks odd with newly tiled white walls, so I asked to have them painted).
